As a Kennel Assistant/Animal Care Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and happiness of the animals in our care. Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming animals for admission, ensuring proper identification, and recording their locations and charges.
• Preparing pets for release, ensuring they are clean and well-groomed before returning to their owners.
• Providing compassionate care to animals and exceptional customer service to their owners.
• Answering phones and assisting clients with questions or concerns.
• Cleaning and sanitizing cages, runs, and hospital areas on a regular schedule.
• Maintaining the hospital’s grounds, including waste disposal and light landscaping.
• Collecting urine and fecal specimens and reporting unusual conditions or behaviors.
• Assisting doctors and technicians with patient restraint and medication administration.
• Following OSHA standards and maintaining safety protocols.
• Supporting the team by completing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Helping with laundry and other duties as needed to keep the hospital running smoothly.

• A great communicator who can make pet owners feel at ease.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow oral and written directions.
• Proactive, always looking for ways to assist the team and stay productive.
• Able to maintain a clean and safe environment for animals and staff.
• Willing to participate in training and staff meetings to continually grow and improve.

No prior experience is required, but a love for animals and a strong work ethic are a must!
