Registered Nurse

Come join the team at Clarinda Correctional Facility as a Registered Nurse. This position is eligible for a $3,000 recruitment bonus - NOTE: Current state employees are not eligible for recruitment payments upon transfer, demotion or promotion to another agency. Registered Nurse duties in a correctional facility performs professional nursing role similar to outpatient services in the community. Registered nurses participate in the management of the nursing care of patients within a health care environment; provide clinical leadership and assist practitioners; plans and conducts educational sessions, including teaching that requires a registered nursing license; administers medication, triage patient complaints and coordinates the care of residents in a correctional environment with multi-disciplinary team which includes physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, optometrists & dentists. The qualified individual must be a registered nurse with a current State of Iowa license, be able to triage, adapt to changing environments and have professional communication skills.
