Take your interpreting expertise to the next level by supporting students in school settings as a Sign Language Interpreter. Two rewarding positions are open for contract interpreters to make a daily impact, collaborating closely with educators and students in dynamic learning environments.

Positions Available:

• Full-time: Monday–Friday, 9am–3pm at a specialized educational center in Vernon Hills, IL, starting as soon as possible through May 28, 2027.
• Part-time: Monday–Friday, 8am–12pm at a high school in Grayslake, IL, with an immediate start through May 20, 2027.

Desired Skills & Certifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience interpreting within an educational or school setting
• Hold at least one of the following:
  • EIPA score of 3.5+ with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Approval
  • EIPA score of 3.0–3.4 with interim ISBE Approval
  • BEI, ISAS, CI/CT, or NIC credentials with ISBE Approval
• Strong communication, facilitation, and collaboration abilities
• Commitment to fostering inclusion and accessible learning

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct sign language interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classroom, group, and individual settings
• Collaborate with educators and staff to ensure seamless communication across all campus activities
• Support students’ full participation in academic and extracurricular programs by interpreting lectures, discussions, and events
• Uphold confidentiality and adhere to professional interpreter standards
• Remain flexible and responsive to evolving student needs
