Project Manager- Mission Critical -MEP Wayne, PA This is a full‑time, regular position based in Wayne, PA. The Mission Critical Project Manager will lead select Mission Critical projects, mentor teams, and provide technical expertise to clients and internal stakeholders. The role requires client engagement, proposal writing, project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and financial oversight. The manager will support sales efforts, establish and maintain client relationships, and drive business development. The candidate should view this as a high‑opportunity position with potential for advancement within the company. The role is expected to meet four days in the office and one day remote each week. Roles and Responsibilities Serve as a project manager on select Mission Critical projects, including new builds, renovations, fit‑outs, and infrastructure upgrades. Client‑facing role: attend RFP site visits, write proposals, and manage day‑to‑day project delivery. Provide all project management functions: scope definition, client management, scheduling, and financials. Vet company processes and provide input for continuous improvement. Assist project managers across all locations of the enterprise. Develop a core group of assistant project managers capable of working independently on similar project types. Manage technical resources and conduct quality control reviews to reinforce technical lessons and company processes. Oversee peer reviews and page turns for multi‑discipline design across all offices. Manage and schedule page turns prior to all major project deliverables. Provide technical input utilizing sound engineering principles. - Management of travel: most time will be spent in the local area; travel to other Bala offices as needed; national travel to project sites is expected infrequently based on project requirements. Project Staffing Support and Enterprise Management Review workforce projections and determine staffing relationships. Identify strategies to align design schedules with staffing. Drive ownership, accountability, and company culture. Interact with partners and executives regularly to advance the firm’s growth and quality agenda. Marketing / Business Development Support: identify potential business opportunities, collaborate with leadership on fee development for complex projects, and maintain client relationships. Grow the volume and footprint of the office market sectors. Qualifications At least ten years of experience in engineering consulting or an adjacent field (construction, owner’s representative, etc.). Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another relevant field from a 4‑year accredited university. PE license preferred. Strong technical writing skills. Knowledge of building codes. Strong interpersonal and team‑building skills. Knowledge of industry best practices and the latest technologies for MEP systems design of Mission Critical Facilities.
