Advocate Supervisor - York - 61069884 - INTERNAL

Seeking a dedicated professional to serve as Advocate Supervisor (Program Coordinator I) in the SC Department of Children's Advocacy. This role supports volunteers through the South Carolina Guardian ad Litem Program and ensures effective advocacy for children in family court. Responsibilities Under limited supervision, the Program Coordinator I provides support, guidance, and programmatic supervision to volunteers, assists with recruitment and training, and ensures accurate data entry into the program database. Assigns volunteers to children in cases of child abuse/neglect; provides supervision and support to ensure compliance with law, policy, and program objectives regarding the best interest of the children. Provides assistance with court preparation and reports, and attends hearings with volunteers as required. Maintains accurate child and case specific information in the database; coordinates receipt of monthly monitoring reports (MMR) and inputs data into the database while maintaining a tracking system of reports received. Assists with training new and existing volunteers according to program guidelines. Recruits a diverse and sufficient pool of volunteers so all cases can be assigned and maintains policy guidelines regarding case assignments. Performs administrative functions for the county office that promote effective and efficient achievement of program goals and objectives. Performs direct child advocacy as the court‑appointed Guardian ad Litem when there is an inadequate pool of volunteers to serve in this capacity. Completes any special assignments or tasks assigned by the County Director. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience, approved by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR). Additional Requirements May require overnight travel. May require work during evenings and weekends. Requires routine driver duties. Requires frequent lifting: 25 lbs. Requires non‑essential declaration. May require reporting to work during emergency situations. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Work is performed primarily in an office environment, but travel and field work may involve some predictable risks and hazards. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree.
