Account Manager - Downstream Refining Process Chemicals

Large global chemical supplier is looking to fill a critical Account Manager position, home-based in the Sarnia, ON area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a focused business unit within a very successful global chemical organization. The position is focused on selling process chemicals to the Downstream Oil Refining markets. This is an exciting, fast-paced, and very challenging position. It's a solid income and career growth opportunity as well. Overnight travel is expected to be minimal ~10%.

Responsibilities:  Manage and grow an existing territory and account base in Western Ontario, mainly in the Sarnia area. Sell a broad range of process chemicals (methanol, coolants, glycols, amines, molecular sieves, activated carbon, etc.) to the Downstream oil refining market in the territory. The business requires selling on a commercial & technical level. Develop new opportunities at existing accounts, as well as prospect for and develop new accounts. Manage pricing, trouble shooting, new product and service introductions, etc. Communicate effectively with management, suppliers, and customers. Develop the sales strategy for the territory. Effectively use a CRM program to manage territory and account information.

Requirements: 3+ years of chemical sales experience to the oil refining market is ideal. Experience selling other products or services to refineries, or experience working in a refinery with a desire to get into sales, is also a potential fit. A track record of sales success. High energy with the capacity to handle a large volume of activity. A college degree is required, and a technical degree is highly preferred. Must be very professional, self-motivated, and can manage many activities, products, accounts, pricing, etc.
