JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Global Supply Chain Leader is responsible for setting and executing the supply chain strategy required to achieve customer product availability, service level performance, working capital targets, and operational cost objectives across the Flow Control Solutions business. The role provides direct and indirect senior leadership across demand planning, inventory management, product portfolio alignment, supply planning, procurement, and supply chain risk management. This leader will partner with commercial, operations, finance, quality, and site leadership teams to translate business strategy into practical supply chain priorities, standards, and measurable results.
This senior supply chain leader will directly lead a multi-layered, global supply chain team while also influencing broader cross-functional teams, site leadership, and key business stakeholders. The leader must demonstrate the capability to lead through others, build organizational depth, establish common operating standards, and create a culture of high performance across Supply Chain Planning, Scheduling, Purchasing, Inventory, and supplier execution. Additionally, the Supply Chain leader will be expected to develop strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, strengthen talent and succession capability within the organization, and lead continuous improvement efforts that improve service, inventory, cost, and business performance.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demand
- Partner with the SIOP leader and Commercial team to ensure demand planning translates market requirements into an accurate and actionable demand forecast that supports production planning, intercompany transactions, direct materials purchasing, inventory strategy, and executive decision-making.
- Lead cross-functional review of demand, backlog, service risk, and customer commitment gaps between order request date, original order promise date, and projected ship date, ensuring clear escalation, recovery actions, and accountability.
Supply
- Define, improve, and sustain a consistent supply planning process that maximizes delivery performance, inventory utilization, and working capital efficiency. Establish and govern MTO/ATO/MTS strategies as required by product, customer, and business needs.
- Own supply chain synchronization across multiple sites, intercompany flows, and third-party suppliers by resolving imbalances between demand and supply while considering lead time, demand variability, capacity constraints, supplier capability, and customer priorities. This includes all items within the FCS division used to manufacture finished goods, distributed products, subcontracting, and outsourcing.
- Lead product planning optimization by aligning supply priorities with revenue, absorption, inventory, and service targets by period.
- Lead cross-functional work teams to eliminate root causes of supply chain inefficiencies, material constraints, excess inventory, and out-of-stock situations, while establishing sustainable corrective actions and governance.
Additional Responsibilities
- Establish and govern key performance measurements, benchmarking metrics, operating reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives that improve service, inventory, cost, supplier performance, and process quality on a continual basis.
- Lead supply chain risk management by identifying risks affecting supply, manufacturing, delivery, quality, and customer demand. Develop mitigation plans, escalation paths, and preventive actions that protect customer service and business continuity.
- Develop direct reports and broader supply chain talent by setting clear expectations, coaching leaders, building succession depth, and creating an environment where team members understand how their work contributes to business results.
- Sponsor and lead strategic supply chain projects that improve the global supply chain organization, strengthen cross-site synchronization, standardize core processes, and deliver measurable business impact.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Customer service performance, including on-time delivery, order promise adherence, backlog health, and recovery execution for constrained demand.
- Inventory and working capital performance, including inventory turns, excess and obsolete inventory, days on hand, and alignment to business cash targets.
- SIOP and planning effectiveness, including forecast accuracy, demand/supply alignment, capacity readiness, and execution against revenue and absorption plans.
- Supplier and materials performance, including supplier on-time delivery, material availability, purchase order health, lead-time management, and escalation effectiveness.
- Operational cost and productivity performance, including supply chain cost control, freight impact, process efficiency, and measurable continuous improvement results.
- Risk and business continuity performance, including supply risk visibility, mitigation plan execution, recovery readiness, and issue escalation discipline.
- Organizational capability, including development of direct reports, succession depth, leadership effectiveness, engagement, and adoption of standard work across the supply chain organization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Engineering, or similar technical degree, ideally with a further business-related qualification.
- Minimum of 15 years combined experience in operations overall, with significant experience in supply chain leadership, planning, purchasing, procurement, customer service, or materials management in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 7 years of people management experience, including leading multi-level teams. Demonstrated experience building high-performing teams, driving functional capability / expertise, and developing leadership and individual contributor talent.
- Experience working with a broad range of cross functional partners and stakeholders at multiple levels of a complex multi-region business.
- Proven history of driving continuous improvement, leading change, and delivering measurable results in service, inventory, working capital, cost, and operational performance.
- Proven experience leading strategic supply chain initiatives across functions, sites, suppliers, and business stakeholders.
- Elevated level of experience with ERP/MRP/APO system
- An articulate leader with the communication skills, business acumen, and organizational awareness required to engage effectively with employees, peers, executives, customers, and suppliers.
