Position Summary

The College of Southern Nevada seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Instructor of Graphic Communications beginning Spring 2027. The Graphic Communications Program prepares students for a career in the design field by emphasizing client- and industry-based practices. The successful candidate will teach five undergraduate courses per semester in the following areas:

• Graphic Design.

• Adobe Creative Suite.

• Motion graphics and UI/UX design.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, New Media, or related field (must be obtained by time of appointment).

Preferred Qualifications

• College-level teaching experience and/or a record of client-based, industry experience.

• Teaching experience in a college setting.

• Demonstrated expertise in three or more of the following graphic communications areas: typography, digital imaging, visual/design fundamentals, conceptual design, layout design, illustration, print production and prepress, image manipulation, art direction, design history/theory, storyboarding, motion graphics, broadcast graphics, interaction/interactive communications design, instructional design, or related areas.

• Experience with current industry standard tools is preferred, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and comparable applications such as Canva, Blender, or Cinema 4D.

• Knowledge of Unreal Engine or similar software.

Starting Salary Information

Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. For example, for an instructor with a Master’s degree the salary range would be $58,046 to $74,304 annually. The entire salary range is up to $89,166 annually with a Doctorate and 10 years’ experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for the initial salary placement purposes. *

Bargaining unit Faculty members hired are eligible for relocation expenses reimbursement in accordance with the College of Southern Nevada NFA Contract 2022-2025 .
