Infant / Toddler Teacher

Community Action Region VI is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teacher to provide quality care for infants and toddlers in our Jamestown Early Head Start program. The Early Head Start Teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of young children. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide nurturing and responsive care to infants and toddlers in a group setting. Create a safe and stimulating environment that promotes exploration and learning. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children. Observe and document children's growth and development and use this information to inform curriculum and individualized plans. Build positive relationships with children and families and maintain open communication with parents and guardians. Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, including cleaning and sanitizing toys and equipment. Ensure that all health and safety guidelines are followed, including administering medication and responding to emergencies. Work collaboratively with all staff to maintain compliance with all program regulations. Adhere to Community Action Code of Ethics and Confidentiality policy. All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent. Must obtain CDA that the agency will assist with. Ability to communicate effectively with young children, parents, and coworkers. Dependable and able to work independently or as part of a team. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Preference given to candidates with early childhood experience, education, or CDA.
