How Hours and Training Are Structured Holiday and/or Weekend Rotation Is Required. A two‑week training period is required (Mon‑Fri 8:00‑4:30). Purpose Provides patient-focused customer service. Performs outpatient and/or inpatient registration and insurance verification functions; collects patient financial liability payments; ensures that patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre‑certifications and referrals; provides general information to hospital users, patients, families and physician offices. Work Focus: Researches, collects and analyzes information. Identifies opportunities, develops solutions and leads through resolution. Collaborates on performance improvement activities as indicated by outcomes in program efficiency and patient experience. Responsible for distribution of analytical reports. Process Focus: Utilizes multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports and develop educational materials. Incorporates basic knowledge of Trinity Health policies, practices and processes to ensure quality, confidentiality and safety are prioritized. Demonstrates knowledge of departmental processes and procedures and ability to readily acquire new knowledge. Data Management and Analysis: Researches and compiles information to support ad‑hoc operational projects and initiatives. Synthesizes and analyzes data and provides detailed summaries including graphical presentations illustrating trends and recommending practical options or solutions while considering the impact on business strategy and supporting leadership decision making. Leverages program and operational data and measurements to define and demonstrate progress, ROI and impacts. Maintains a Working Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program and Code of Conduct, as well as other policies, procedures & guidelines in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical & professional behavior & safe work practices. Functional Role PAR I entry-level position. Minimum one (1) year customer service experience. Patient Access experience preferred. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA certification required within one (1) year of hire. Additional Qualifications (Nice to Have) Medical terminology knowledge and diagnostic & procedural coding. Insurance verification with ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations. Pay Pay range: $17.25–$22.54 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
