Entry-Level - $87,000 Performs advanced technical/engineering problem solving in support of nuclear plant operations while acting as a resource and technical expert to engineers. Possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations. The Fire Protection Program Engineer (FPPE) is the station&rsquos technical authority responsible for implementing andmaintainingthe Fire Protection Programin accordance withregulatory requirements, fleet procedures, and NFPA standards. The FPPE provides technical leadership, supports regulatory inspections,maintainsprogram health, and collaborates closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, corporate fire protection, and external oversight bodies Prepare regular Program Health Reports/KPIs for Fire Protection and FLEX. Maintain and update program documentation, including FPR, Safe Shutdown Analysis, and procedures. Perform engineering evaluations, calculations, and reviews on fire barriers, detection, suppression, and safe-shutdown features. Review and approve design changes affecting fire protection systems or licensing basis. Lead or support Fire Protection Inspections (NRC, NEIL, NOS), self-assessments, OPEX/IR reviews, and audits. Support fire protection issue evaluation and CAP investigations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Entry Level E01 Engineer Bachelor&rsquos degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Nuclear) Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties Bachelor&rsquos degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Nuclear) with 2 years of nuclear or related engineering experience Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties Bachelor&rsquos degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Nuclear) with 5 years of nuclear experience or related engineering experience Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties Professional Engineer Registration Demonstrated experience in engineering programs, system ownership, or fire protection related functions. Knowledge of NFPA codes, NRC regulatory requirements, and nuclear safety processe s.
