Staff Scientist (EIR Scientist) We are seeking a Staff Scientist (EIR Scientist) to join our Raleigh, NC team! Job Responsibilities Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring for various media and contaminants of concern by following established procedures. Manage and analyze sampling data, including summary tables, result interpretation, and sample location maps. Provide field oversight services for drilling, soil and groundwater sampling, vapor intrusion assessment, underground storage tank (UST) removals, private drinking water and well surveys. Prepare reports by assisting with data compilation, reduction, interpretation, evaluation, and comparison to state and/or federal environmental regulatory standards. Interact with internal and external clients, contractors, and service providers. Participate in a proactive safety culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate with diverse team members toward a common goal of providing client‑centric services with high‑quality interactions and deliverables. Requirements BS in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field. 0‑4 years of related environmental consulting experience, NC‑specific experience preferred. Ability to work effectively on multiple assignments, prioritizing and delegating activities, and delivering on tight deadlines. Capable of working independently, under direct supervision of others, and in a team‑oriented environment. Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record. Commitment to safety. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to pass a background check for clearance to work on various private and government facilities. Technical Requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Strong technical, analytical, and research skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Preferred 40‑Hour Hazwoper certification. Other Miscellaneous Qualities Ability for overnight travel (typically in‑state) as needed (average 20‑30%). Ability to perform moderately strenuous tasks.
