Position : Under the supervision of the Financial Aid Director and Assistant Financial Aid Director, the Scholarship Clerk will manage NMMI-controlled scholarship dollars, comprised of monies allotted for scholarship awards through Alumni Relations, NMMI Foundation, and NMMI Trust Accounts. Advise applicants, cadets, and parents of NMMI scholarship opportunities. This is a non-exempt, 12-month, full-time position with an hourly pay rate of $17.12 (approximately $35,608.00 per year). Tasks:

Guide cadets, parents, and applicants through the scholarship process.

Work directly with NMMI Scholarship Committee members and fund managers.

Maintain an accurate list of all NMMI scholarship committee members.

Manage, track, and award NMMI academy prep scholarships from service academies.

Manage, track, and award SROTC scholarships to those cadets participating in the Early Commissioning Program (ECP).

Other duties as assigned.

·  Ability to obtain knowledge of NMMI scholarship policies and procedures.

·  Knowledge of office etiquette and processes.

·  Ability to obtain knowledge of the NMMI Operations and Procedures Manual.

·  Skill in oral and written communications.

·  Skill in developing and administering budgets.

·  Ability to handle multiple tasks.

·  Ability to work independently.

Qualifications:

Required:

·    High school diploma.

·    Minimum of two (2) years of clerical experience.

·    Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work under high-pressure deadline requirements.

·    Extensive experience with computer hardware and software.

Preferred:

·   Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.

·   Financial Aid experience.

·   Bilingual.

With a student body of up to 1,000 cadets, NMMI provides comprehensive academic experience complemented by Junior and Senior Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs. The high school curriculum is fully accredited, preparing students for higher education. The junior college program facilitates cadet transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Additionally, NMMI houses the Intermediate Preparatory Academy (IPA) for grades 6-8. The IPA delivers a challenging academic program that emphasizes fundamental skills while also offering opportunities for hands-on learning.
