Provide direct outpatient care to patients at the clinic, ensuring quality assurance through the examination of patients' eyes, vision testing, diagnosing visual disorders and diseases, determining treatment plans, and supervising appropriate treatments for conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetes.

• Engage in quality assurance, quality improvement, and utilization review processes
• Examine patients of all ages to identify signs of injury, disease, abnormalities, or vision defects
• Issue spectacle prescriptions
• Draft referral communications to other healthcare providers
• Interpret retinal scans
• Prescribe medications for eye-related conditions
• Contribute to the development of clinic protocols and procedures to ensure high-quality eye care
• Participate in utilization and peer review programs to assess the quality of optometry services provided at the clinics

Minimum Requirements

• Valid California Optometric License
• Certification from the State of California for the treatment of ocular diseases
• Certification from the State of California for the treatment of glaucoma
• Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry institution
• Current CPR certification
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
• Familiarity with Practice Management and Electronic Medical Records systems, preferably NextGen

Essential Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel), business email communication, and internet research

Pay Range

• $71.00 - $74.00 Based on Experience
