Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Specialist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This position involves supporting surgical teams in a busy Level III Trauma Center with a focus on neuro, ENT, spinal, cranial, orthopedic, and general surgeries. The role requires a dedicated professional capable of working within a fast-paced environment, ensuring patient safety and operational efficiency during surgical procedures.

Job Details:

• Shift Hours: 8 hours per day, with variable start times between 05:30 and 07:00.
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 40 hours.
• Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) from the following certifying bodies: National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA), or National Certification for Surgical Assistants (NCCSA); Basic Life Support (BLS); at least 2 years of experience supporting neuro, ENT, spine, cranial, orthopedic, and general surgeries; valid licensure and certifications as listed.
• Additional Information: Support within the department includes charge nurse, lead, supervisors (AM, PM, weekends), and manager. Cross-training for General Main Operating Room (OR) specialty and Urology is required. Orientation duration is approximately 1-1.5 weeks, depending on team and shift. The role involves working in a facility with EPIC electronic medical records, Alaris infusion pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems. Parking is free, with shuttle service available; food options include campus Starbucks and cafeteria.

  • Days: Variable start times between 05:30 and 07:00.
  • On-Call: Yes, with a 30-minute response time and an 8-week call schedule, including weekend and holiday shifts as specified.
  • Holiday Expectations: Flexibility to work during holiday weeks, with options to work four 10-hour shifts or take holidays off.
