In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with ensuring the reliability, security, and overall integrity of our advanced GPU computing environment. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a hands‑on approach, capable of managing technical teams and navigating complex facility systems effectively. Key facts Location: Ellendale, ND Engagement: Full-time What you'll do Oversee the daily operations of the facility, ensuring efficient power distribution, cooling systems, and security measures are in place. Lead and mentor on‑site technical personnel while collaborating with external service providers for maintenance and repair tasks. Guarantee that all infrastructure components are optimized to meet the rigorous performance demands of AI‑driven cloud workloads. Maintain comprehensive documentation regarding equipment lifecycles, inventory management, and compliance with facility standards. Actively respond to incidents on‑site, diagnosing hardware or environmental issues swiftly to reduce downtime and maintain operational continuity. Develop and enforce safety protocols, ensuring that the facility complies with both company policies and industry regulations. Analyze operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and performance. Coordinate with remote engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization. Participate in budget planning and resource allocation to support ongoing operational needs and future growth initiatives. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve facility operations and infrastructure. Foster a culture of safety and accountability among staff, promoting best practices in data center management. Prepare regular reports for senior management, summarizing operational performance, challenges, and proposed solutions. Requirements Demonstrated experience in managing data centers or critical facility operations, with a strong track record of success. In‑depth technical knowledge of power systems, HVAC technologies, and server hardware deployment processes. Proven leadership skills, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. Expertise in incident management and conducting root cause analysis to address infrastructure failures effectively. Exceptional communication abilities, facilitating coordination with remote engineering and operational teams. Strong problem‑solving skills, with a focus on proactive measures to prevent issues before they arise. Nice to have Familiarity with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) software and tools. Experience in managing large‑scale GPU deployments or AI‑related workloads. Knowledge of industry best practices and standards for data center operations. Certifications related to data center management or facility operations (e.g., CDCP, CDCS). Previous experience in budget management and resource allocation within a technical environment. Skills & tools Proficient in data center infrastructure management software for monitoring and reporting. Familiarity with power and cooling system monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance. Experience with hardware lifecycle management practices to extend the life of equipment. Skilled in incident response protocols and troubleshooting methodologies to address operational challenges.
