Location: Houston, TX / Abilene, TX (Traveling Role) Industry: Commercial Construction | Ground-Up Warehouse Salary Range: $130,000- 140,000 + Fuel Reimbursement + Project Bonus Potential Position Overview Our client is a growing commercial general contractor with a strong presence across Texas, specializing in industrial, medical, retail, automotive, and ground‑up commercial construction projects. They are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee two ground‑up warehouse / PEMB projects located on a major data center campus in Abilene, TX. This Superintendent will be responsible for managing day‑to‑day field operations, coordinating subcontractors, driving schedules, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring quality execution within a highly active, controlled‑access project environment. The ideal candidate is a strong field leader who thrives in fast‑paced commercial construction settings and has experience managing large‑scale ground‑up projects from sitework through completion. This is a traveling contract position offering the opportunity to work on a high‑profile data center campus with a well‑established and growing contractor. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily field operations from project startup through completion Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, site access, and project logistics Maintain project schedules and proactively resolve field‑related issues Enforce strict safety standards and job site compliance procedures Communicate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and ownership representatives Conduct quality control walkthroughs and maintain jobsite organization Manage scheduling coordination between multiple contractors operating on the campus Assist with project documentation, reporting, and progress tracking Utilize Procore and other construction management software to support field operations Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards Required Qualifications 7+ years of Superintendent experience within commercial construction Ground‑up commercial construction experience required Experience with warehouse, industrial, PEMB, large commercial shell, or tilt‑wall projects strongly preferred Strong understanding of construction sequencing, subcontractor management, and scheduling coordination Experience operating within strict safety or controlled‑access environments preferred Ability to manage fast‑paced projects with accelerated schedules Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities Experience with Procore or similar construction management software preferred Valid driver's license required Ability to pass background checks and random drug testing requirements Preferred Skills & Traits Experience with traveling superintendent assignments strongly preferred Data center or mission‑critical project exposure is a plus, but not required Experience with steel erection coordination and PEMB construction highly valued Self‑directed and capable of operating independently in the field Strong safety mindset and proactive communication style Resourceful problem solver with the ability to adapt quickly Even‑keeled personality with strong relationship‑building skills Comfortable temporarily relocating for project assignments Long‑term mindset and interest in growing with a rapidly expanding contractor #J-18808-Ljbffr
