The Tabletop Game Store Sales Associate plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional shopping experience at a small independent store specializing in tabletop games. Working typical 8-hour shifts, this position involves assisting a diverse customer base of casual gamers, competitive players, and collectors by providing expert product knowledge and friendly service. The cashier is responsible not only for efficient cash handling and POS operations but also for maintaining store presentation and actively promoting sales through frequent upselling.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with game selections and inquiries
- Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system
- Maintain store organization and visual merchandising to enhance the shopping environment
- Provide exceptional customer service to build a loyal community
- Engage in frequent upselling and promote ongoing store promotions
- Support team members and contribute to a positive store atmosphere
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in retail or customer service roles
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work effectively within a team
