Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Charleston, South Carolina.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: OR - Operating Room\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 40 hours per week\n Shift: 10 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 4x10hrs\n Hours: 40 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 5, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I trauma academic medical center requiring SC or compact RN license and OR scrub experience.Details\n \n Main Operating Room within a Level I academic trauma center featuring 21 OR suites\n Covers all surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics\n Nursing team consists of 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists, with RNs trained to both scrub and circulate\n Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 6:30am-5:00pm\n On-call required, up to 4 call shifts every 4 weeks\n Weekend work required, up to one working weekend shift every 4 weeks\n At least one holiday period required (Christmas or New Year's)\n Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities\n Uses Epic EMR system\n Requirements\n \n Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required\n BLS certification required (AHA only)\n Radiation badge required, provided by agency\n 2 years of OR experience strongly preferred\n Scrub experience strongly preferred\n Level I trauma center experience preferred\n Driver's license and SSN required for consideration\n Additional Information\n \n Work in a busy, nurse-driven, Magnet-designated department offering cutting-edge surgical technology\n Scrubs provided by facility\n Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital, and Magnet-designated with 820 staffed beds\n During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams\n First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs\n Previous MUSC perm staff or PRN employees must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler\n Candidates must live within 60 miles to be considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized\n Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate\n All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration\n Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed and depends on unit needs\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-745760.
