Senior Software Test Engineer (Onsite)

RTX Corporation seeks a Test Engineer for its Physical Sciences & Systems business unit located in Middletown, Rhode Island (US-RI-MIDDLETOWN). Role type: Onsite. The successful candidate must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. person with an active, transferable Secret security clearance at the time of hire. Responsibilities Develop test plans, test procedures, and test tools for multiple programs. Perform testing of hardware and software systems, isolate failures, and propose solutions. Interface with DoD clients during formal sell‑off test events and integration test periods. Collaborate with development teams to track, document, and resolve bugs. Track and verify requirements throughout the testing lifecycle. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Qualifications Typically requires a STEM degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience. In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required. Active, transferable Secret security clearance, obtained prior to start date. Experience executing tests in software environments and documenting results. Proficiency with test tracking software tools. Experience and knowledge of C programming for embedded systems is preferred. Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) is preferred. Experience in QA or configuration management is preferred. Benefits Competitive salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD. Health, dental, and vision insurance.
