Assistant Custodian

South Range Local School District is seeking an Assistant Custodian. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Custodian to join our team. As an Assistant Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our facilities. This is a vital role in ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for our students, staff, and community.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain clean and orderly classrooms and hallways
• Dust mop and mop floors daily
• Empty and replace trash liners
• Clean and sanitize restrooms
• Respond to radio calls and custodial requests
• Coordinate floor scrubbing a minimum of three times per week
• Ensure classroom desks and surfaces remain clean
• Clean and maintain stairways
• Remove dust and debris from around doors, recycling containers, and pencil sharpeners
• Move wheeled furniture and equipment as needed for thorough cleaning
• Assist with setup and support for after-school activities and events
• Collaborate with fellow custodians to complete cleaning assignments efficiently

Requirements:

• Proven experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles preferred
• Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment operation
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and standing for extended periods of time
• Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and respond to inquiries or requests
