Supervisory Transportation Specialist

The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Supervisory Mobility Transportation Specialist. The Supervisory Transportation Specialist will function in the Travel section within the Patient Care Administrative Service. Time-In-Grade Requirement Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Applicants who were previously selected under a Competitive Delegating Examining Unit (DEU) announcement must have served in their position for at least 90 days prior to being eligible for other positions within the Competitive Service. Specialized Experience You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-7 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Manages all travel requirements, including consults for routine outpatient appointments, ensuring community transport of patients for care; manages local transportation contracts, budgetary requirements, and fund control points; oversees daily operations by planning, assigning, directing, and reviewing workload within the department; Develops performance standards and evaluate performance of employees; provides guidance to staff of requirements to support patient movements including training, tracking, consulting and assisting with alternate means of transportation; develops and implements guidance on work processes, administrative matters and performance expectations; ensures all program operations comply with applicable federal statutes, VA regulations, directives, policies, privacy requirements, accreditation standards, financial management requirements, and internal control procedures; Monitors expenditures, preventing improper payments, ensuring effective internal controls, and safeguarding government resources. Education Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Combination Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond graduate level.
