JOB DESCRIPTION Understands and documents business requirements. Identifies and vets potential vendors. Negotiates price and terms for services, materials, equipment, and/or supplies from vendors. Formalize agreements according to company policy. Monitors vendor compliance with contract terms and product or service specifications. Identifies and realizes opportunities for cost reduction. Participates in internal control processes. 1. Explain what the scope of the work/project is? Project Overview, deliverables (what is this person responsible for). This role is intended to supplement the manager's existing sourcing team and perform the same functions as current team members, rather than supporting a single defined project. The resource will support large capital and onsite services projects for the nuclear fleet, managing end-to-end strategic sourcing activities including intake review, contract development, sourcing events, negotiations, execution, and post-award contract management. 2. What does a typical day look like? Review and validate sourcing requests from stakeholders Ensure required information and compliance elements are in place Conduct vendor risk assessments Negotiate pricing and contract terms Run sourcing events (RFPs/bids) when required Execute purchase orders and assist with invoice issue resolution Manage supplier performance and recovery plans Maintain nuclear contract records and documentation (life-of-plant retention) 1. What are the top 3-5 skills and qualifications (technology/application/software, etc.) required? Strategic sourcing or purchasing experience Contract negotiation and supplier management Microsoft Word (advanced formatting), Excel, and PowerPoint Experience with large projects and complex scopes Ability to manage workload independently 2. What non-technical skills are necessary (i.e., such as communication, problem solving, team player)? Strong communication skills Negotiation skills Attention to detail Motivation and self-direction Relationship-building ability Bachelors Degree 3. Ideal candidate background and how many years required? Supply Chain / Supply Chain Management Project Management Business or Finance Construction or Construction Management Years of experience not specifically defined; practical experience is emphasized. 4. re there any specific companies you like to see on a candidate's resume? Avoid candidates currently or previously employed by Westinghouse (WECTEC) due to conflict of interest concerns 5. re there any certifications that the candidate must possess? Preferred: CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or equivalent 6. re there any preferred or "nice to have" skills? SAP experience (strongly preferred) Coupa or other e-sourcing / contract management tools Nuclear industry familiarity
