Psychologist
$8kPave Talent
A well-established private behavioral health practice in Northern Virginia providing psychotherapy and evaluation services to children, adolescents, and families. Hourly fee-for-service compensation with significant tiered quarterly bonuses at set clinical-hour thresholds, and a caseload built to your strengths rather than just what's open. One structural change makes all the difference: we're a W2 practice, not a 1099 setup. The practice pays the employer share of payroll tax, and benefits a 1099 practice legally cannot offer (malpractice coverage, retirement matching, health insurance) come with the seat. Average clinician tenure across the team is nearly seven years, several clinicians are past the eight-year mark, and one celebrates fifteen years with the practice this year. That's not an accident. Caseloads here flex as a clinician's life does, scaling back when life calls for it and ramping back up later, and the priority order gets said out loud: you and your family first, then the clients. This is an intentional group. The whole team meets weekly to brainstorm cases and think through the ones that are stuck. Referrals are curated rather than assigned: cases reach you because they fit your strengths and interests, through relationships the practice has spent years building with area pediatricians, schools, and counselors, and that includes a steady stream of psychological and psychoeducational testing referrals most group practices can't offer. The investment shows up in training too. In-house didactics, CEU support, and a Sabbatical benefit worth up to $8,000 toward advanced certification once you've built tenure here, for clinicians who want to go deeper into a specialty rather than stay generalist. Completing your postdoctoral hours? This seat works for you too. The practice provides formal clinical supervision toward Virginia licensure under a written supervision agreement, helps you track your supervised hours, and has developed residents into independently licensed clinicians who built long careers here. If your five-year plan is a solo practice of your own, or you need a strictly 9-to-3 schedule, this isn't your seat. Kids are in school during the day, so afternoon and early-evening hours are where this caseload lives. The practice hires at several levels. Independently licensed master's clinicians (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) and MSW or MA graduates completing supervised hours toward Virginia licensure (Supervisee in Social Work, Resident in Counseling, Resident in Marriage and Family Therapy) are welcome to apply to this posting. Supervision is structured, documented, and built to carry you to independent licensure. Tell us where you are in your path when you apply. Pave Talent and our client are equal opportunity employers. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. A licensed psychologist who genuinely works both sides: psychotherapy and psychological evaluation with children, adolescents, and families A recent doctoral graduate (Psy.D. or Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology) registered, or eligible to register, as a Resident in Psychology with the Virginia Board of Psychology A clinician who wants colleagues, not an island: a team that meets weekly to brainstorm cases, real consultation on the ones that are stuck, someone to pop in on after a hard session, an annual team retreat, and a place where real community and friendships, laughter included, come naturally Strengths-based, evidence-based orientation (CBT or integrative preferred) A clinician with a specialty to bring, or one you want to build: eating disorders, trauma, substance use, whatever it is. Tell us, and there are real dollars behind training toward it, not just a nod of encouragement A caseload matched to your skills and interests: 17 to 26+ clinical hours per week for licensed clinicians, a supervised ramp for residents A mixed caseload of therapy and psychological / psychoeducational evaluation, testing supplies provided Full clinical autonomy at the licensed level; scheduled, documented supervision toward licensure for residents Billing, intake scheduling, and correspondence handled by administrative staff Primarily in-person, Monday to Friday afternoons/evenings, in the Falls Church, Virginia area, with some telehealth $60,000 to $190,000 per year, scaling with licensure level and clinical hours; full-caseload licensed clinicians (18+ hours) typically earn $120,000 or more Hourly fee-for-service plus tiered quarterly bonuses, with bonus eligibility tied to clinical productivity, meeting attendance, and referral-source collaboration Virginia license fee reimbursement with no waiting period; other-state and PsyPact fees reimbursed case by case Access to health, dental, and vision insurance Matching Simple IRA retirement plan, 1:1 up to 3%, after one year CEU reimbursement up to $1,000 per year for licensed clinicians, available after two years with the practice A Sabbatical Training benefit worth up to $8,000 toward advanced certification once you've built tenure here In-house didactics on clinical topics relevant to your caseload Weekly coaching and consultation with clinical leadership through your six-month introductory period, built specifically to help you succeed in a group-practice setting An active client waitlist for rapid, targeted caseload building Psy.D. or Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology Independently licensed in Virginia (or in DC or Maryland with Virginia licensure by endorsement), OR doctorate complete and registered or eligible to register as a Resident in Psychology with the Virginia Board of Psychology Direct clinical experience with children, adolescents, and families (training-level experience counts for residents) Psychological evaluation experience, or interest in expanding into assessment services Re-specializing back into child and family work from other areas, or returning to practice after a hiatus? When the fundamentals are there, this practice has successfully developed that path before #J-18808-Ljbffr
