Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse specialized in Labor and Delivery to join our dynamic team. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients in various stages of childbirth, including labor, postpartum, and newborn care. Key Responsibilities
- Manage patient care for various diagnoses in Labor and Delivery/Postpartum/OB Triage/Antepartum/Normal Newborn.
- Perform special procedures including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and circulating in the operating room.
- Start adult IVs and administer blood/blood products, including drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, insulin, and magnesium sulfate.
- Utilize various specialized equipment relevant to Labor and Delivery and postpartum care.
- Provide couplet care for mothers and newborns post-delivery.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery, L&D, Postpartum, and Newborn care.
- Active compact nursing license honored by facilities.
- Certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP, ACLS (preferred).
- Float as needed across various units to support patient needs.
- Skills required: Circulate in OR, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), IV start.
- Strong ability to work under pressure with a staff-to-patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:3.
