Opportunity:

RN - Telemetry

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Self-scheduling available
• Every other weekend requirement
• 2 major holidays and 2 minor holidays required depending on contract dates
• No mandatory on-call requirement; standby may be required dependent on fluctuating census
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4 with PCTs at 1 per every 15 patients
• Must be able to titrate cardiac drips including heparin, Lasix, bumex, and other cardiac medications
• Must be proficient in EKG monitoring and able to independently interpret EKG strips
• RT equipment includes nasal cannula and BiPap/CPAP for obstructive sleep apnea only
• Floating requirements to any telemetry floor may apply
• Common patient diagnoses include CHF, fluid overload, shortness of breath, arrhythmias, and ETOH
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color requirement: Navy
• 2 days of unit-specific floor orientation
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required, no exceptions
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
• Dysrhythmia exam required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance with a maximum of 2 attempts allowed
• Pass/fail Simulation Lab on day one of orientation

Facility:

This Level 1 Trauma acute care facility operates a 30-bed CHF Telemetry unit with centralized telemetry monitoring. The unit is supported by a charge nurse with no patient assignment, a dedicated manager, and patient care technicians to ensure quality care delivery. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic charting system and is equipped to handle a wide range of telemetry and cardiac conditions.
