We believe the marketplace for consumer products is inundated with too many options, and customers find product quality difficult to determine and yet frequently pay more for a variety of things that can be delivered at much lower prices. Our goal is to find the best products in the marketplace and connect the makers of these goods directly to the customers who want them. Quince has proven the consumer value proposition and has built a loyal, repeat consumer base. We want to build on that value proposition and continue to scale in both existing and new product categories. This merchant leading Denim will be responsible for managing the assortment, revenue and margins, and overall growth trajectory of that product category.Quince's growth and success is directly tied to the performance and success of this role. The person in this role will be an innovator at heart leveraging the attributes below to build and run our emerging categories strategy.ResponsibilitiesOwn all end-to-end merchandising for Denim, including category strategy, fit assortment, seasonal wash assortment, launches, and performance.Work closely with tech design on fit intent and execution.Influencing long-term planning; responsible for delivering near-term results independentlyLead fabric library reset project—redefining quality standards for Denim fabrics and stretch buckets across the business.Partner closely with PD and Sourcing to align quality, costs, and vendor execution.Analyze data to drive decision-making, including sales velocity, margin, return rate, etc.Maintain a competitive market pulse and identify white space opportunities.Leveraging data for ratings, reviews, and return rates, conduct quality improvements for any products in assortment with improvement opportunitiesOnboard additional best-in-class vendors to the Quince model to expand sourcebaseContinuously identify whitespace in the assortment and refine product roadmap based on new information and learnings May manage Analysts or Asst Merchants (0–2 direct reports).QualificationsRequired: Role is based in San Francisco California, with 3 days per week in office requirement.5-7 years of retail merchandising experience with Denim brands, preferably with luxury expertise1-2 years of people management experienceE-commerce experience and/or DTC experience preferredProven track record of progressing within an organization and demonstrating continuous growth in roles and responsibilitiesProduct obsessed with experience in leveraging data tools and external sourcesCritical eye to anticipate customer needs (both the “science” and “art” of retail merchandising)Highly organized, detail-oriented and analytical with focus on execution, problem-solving, improving processes and brand enhancementContinuous learner and highly curious; always open to considering new perspectives; proactive when changing course and facing added challengesExcellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsMotivated by working in a fast-paced collaborative environment, where flexibility to stretch into or out of functional comfort zones is crucial for team successBachelor’s Degree, preferredPreferred:Expert denim fabric and wash knowledgeRetail backgroundInterest in sustainable fashion or socially responsible businessesAll posted ranges are reflective of base salary and may vary depending upon experience level and location.
