Fleet Equipment Manager

Fleet Equipment ManagerManages Company fleets equipment and utilization, while communicating with drivers and various departments regarding tractor assignments.Role And Responsibilities* Performs supervisory responsibilities, as needed, to effectively manage personnel including training, coaching, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. * Researches and verifies the status and location of Company tractors and trailers and updates system accordingly. * Confers with various departments to route tractors to appropriate terminals and to recover trucks when necessary. * Investigates and resolves problems associated with equipment assignments. * Ensures all tractor counts and yard checks are current and accurate. * Assists in the managements of Fleets idle compliance and fuel, additive, and oil tracing programs. * Ensures all tractors seated by new hires have a completed and passing quality audit. * Assists Fleets in Tractor * Resolves off-hours prorate issues, when necessary. * Manages rental car program for drivers, when necessary. * Confers with other departments regarding driver on-boarding and orientation processes and resolves any issues, if necessary. * Authorizes payment advances as needed. * Provides support for any PeopleNet, including establishing new user accounts. * Establishes and maintains positive working relationships. * Travels to off-site locations as required. * Receives and carries out instructions. * Maintains regular and predictable attendance. * Performs other duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities* Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Strong supervisory and leadership skills. * Solves problems and makes decisions independently and proactively. * Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Qualifications And Education RequirementsBachelor's degree; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Physical Requirements* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. * Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsValid Driver's LicenseBreath Alcohol Technician and Specimen Collector for Drug Testing as required by supervisor
