Drives Control Engineer

Overview

The SOW Drives Control Engineers shall be responsible for all tasks and deliverables related to locomotive, OHV propulsion and auxiliary drive control system development, including control algorithm design, software requirements development, model-based implementation, integration, verification, and validation activities. The Drives Control Engineers shall work closely with Wabtec Systems, Software, Power Electronics, and Verification teams to develop, maintain, and enhance locomotive drive control functionality.

Required Skills:

Drives and Power Electronics, AC Traction Drives, Induction Motor Control, Permanent Magnet Motor Control, Converter/Inverter Topologies, Field-Oriented Control (FOC), Torque and Speed Control, Drive Protection Functions

Model-Based Development - Matlab/Simulink, Stateflow, Embedded Software Development, Auto-Code Generation, Verification, MIL/SIL Testing, Desktop Simulation, Control Validation, Requirements Traceability, Engineering Skills

Requirements management: Configuration management, Design reviews, Defect analysis and resolution, technical communication
