Oakville School Psychologist 2026/2027

Summary The Oakville School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist for the 2026/2027 academic year. This part‑time position will play a crucial role in supporting the mental health and academic success of our diverse student population. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of psychological principles, educational practices, and child development, and will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and community resources to create a positive learning environment. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies based on assessment results. Provide counseling and support services to students experiencing academic, emotional, or behavioral challenges. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive school environment. Facilitate crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies or critical incidents. Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress monitoring in compliance with district policies and legal requirements. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives aimed at improving student outcomes. Stay current with research and best practices in school psychology and related fields. Requirements Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution. Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist. Experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings preferred. Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools and intervention strategies. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and build positive relationships with students, families, and staff. Commitment to promoting equity, inclusion, and diversity within the school community.
