Must-Have Skills/Experience: 1 year Med Surg experience, inpatient only

Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with established values and service standards. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice. Meets unit-specific physical demands, including significant bending, stooping, and lifting. May be required to work differing schedules, shifts, and days of the week according to patient care requirements. Exposed to high risk for blood and body fluids. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs. Utilizes the nursing process to provide care for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities. Fosters a collaborative environment and is an overall team player, willing to provide care to a diverse population. Adheres to the dress code requirements by wearing the designated scrub color and avoiding unacceptable attire. Maintains compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards throughout performance of duties.
