Development Lead Systems Engineer – AMRAAM® C9/D4 Program

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Development Lead Systems Engineer to lead system compliance, cross‑disciplinary collaboration, and system‑level verification for the AMRAAM® C9/D4 program. The successful candidate will be a key technical resource across program efforts, collaborating with internal teams, leadership, and external customers to deliver innovative solutions that align with program and Air Dominance portfolio objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure system compliance with contractual and program requirements, maintaining alignment with customer expectations.
• Coordinate across hardware, software, test, and system capabilities (reliability, maintainability, testability) to ensure interface integrity and a producible system design through a robust system architecture.
• Serve as the primary source of system and product knowledge, including design, performance capabilities, producibility, and operational considerations.
• Participate in platform and System‑of‑Systems (SoS) interface definition and integration activities.
• Own and oversee the final system verification process, including Functional Configuration Audit (FCA) and associated Requirement Verification Sheets (RVS).
• Engage in regular customer interactions, including weekly meetings, briefings with Portfolio leadership, and Strategic Business Unit leadership.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to early‑career engineers, fostering their professional growth.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred).
• Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
• Rocket Level 4 (or higher) Certified Lead Systems Engineer or equivalent experience in a Lead Systems Engineer role.
• Experience leading system development and design, requirements development, verification, system architecture management, integration, test, and transition to production of complex system architectures.
• U.S. citizenship required; active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance required prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Level 3 (or higher) Certified Lead Systems Engineer with at least 12 years of relevant work experience and prior technical leadership across the development and production lifecycle.
• Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience across the product lifecycle, including concept development, architecture, design, integration, verification, and production.
• Proficiency in developing effective internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.
