Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)The Telemetry unit consists of 33 beds and caters to patients requiring cardiac monitoring and related care.Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:4-6, depending on acuity.Common Diagnoses: includes post-cardiac surgeries, thoracotomies, atrial fibrillation, and other medical conditions requiring telemetry monitoring.Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS.Role ResponsibilitiesMonitor and assess patients on telemetry.Titrate intravenous drips (excluding pressors, paralytics, and TPA).Perform patient care including the use of CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen devices, with assistance from respiratory therapy as needed.Read telemetry strips at least once per shift and report any significant changes.Participate in self-scheduling while accommodating unit needs.Staffing and SupportCharge Nurse is present on each shift and generally has a patient assignment.Patient care technicians are available at a ratio of approximately 1:15.Work ScheduleShifts: Self-scheduling available, subject to adjustment for balanced staffing.Weekend Requirements: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period.Holiday Requirements: 2 summer holidays and 3 winter holidays.Floating Requirements: Possible to other floors as needed.Orientation and Training1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided.Charting System: EPIC.QualificationsCurrent nursing license required.BSN is not required but preferred.LocationPosition available in City, State.
