Plasma Center Nurse LPN

Job Description Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supporting plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. The role includes ensuring donor eligibility, monitoring donor reactions, and providing medical and safety support for staff and donors. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility by managing informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and coordinate medical emergencies, including physician standing orders and emergency transport. Consult Center Physician or Medical Affairs on medical issues, findings, and eligibility concerns. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Handle employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support investigations related to community pandemic threats per EHS or Medical Affairs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate‑level recognized nursing program with state requirements. Licensed or certified in the state of assignment (LPN or LVN). Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. State licensure for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of clinical or hospital experience. Compensation and Benefits USA – SC – Spartanburg Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44. Actual wage may vary based on qualifications, experience, and local wage requirements.
