Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3 x 12 Mid/Evening Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Active Registered Nurse License required or eligible to obtain Certifications: BLS certification required, ACLS required Must-Have: Bachelor's degree preferred, successful completion from an approved School of Nursing, clinical experience preferred Description: The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the patient care team. They are responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all assigned areas. The RN will be required to assess patients upon admission using appropriate interview techniques to obtain past medical history, current medical status, vital signs, lab work, x-rays, and other diagnostic tests. They will be involved in the planning and implementation of a written care plan under the direction of a Physician. Essential Job Functions include: Assessment Able to perform standard assessments using basic equipment. Medication Administration Visual acuity is necessary. Hand-eye coordination is required. Communication/Documentation Maintains confidentiality. Able to communicate verbally and in writing. Patient Safety Able to meet standards of job analysis form. Interpersonal Skills Interacts positively with team members and patients. Respects patients' culture, lifestyle, religion, and age when planning or implementing care. Accepts constructive criticism and channels emotional reactions positively. Professional Activities Membership in a professional nursing organization is preferred. Certification in the specialty is preferred.
