Job Title: Welder - Custom Fabrication
Job Description
This role focuses on custom fabrication and welding projects for a variety of industries. You will independently manage jobs from start to finish, including interpreting job tickets and blueprints, fabricating and fitting components, performing high-quality welds, and installing completed work. This position is ideal for a hands-on welder who enjoys variety, craftsmanship, and ownership of each project.
Responsibilities

• Review job tickets and blueprints to understand project specifications, measurements, and required materials.
• Plan and set up each job, selecting appropriate tools, equipment, and welding processes for the project.
• Perform custom fabrication, including cutting, fitting, and assembling metal components for structures and sheet metal projects.
• Execute MIG and TIG welding on various materials, including stainless steel and other metals, to produce strong and clean welds.
• Grind, finish, and prepare welded components to meet quality and aesthetic standards.
• Inspect work throughout the process to ensure accuracy, structural integrity, and compliance with project requirements.
• Handle each assigned job independently from start to finish, maintaining accountability for quality and timeliness.
• Install completed fabricated and welded assemblies at the designated location as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper handling of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors as needed to clarify requirements and resolve fabrication or installation challenges.

Essential Skills

• Proficient MIG welding skills with the ability to produce consistent, high-quality welds.
• Proficient TIG welding skills, including work on stainless steel components.
• Hands-on experience with metal fabrication, including cutting, fitting, and assembling structures and sheet metal.
• Strong blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret measurements, weld symbols, and fabrication details.
• Ability to perform grinding and finishing work to prepare and refine welded parts.
• Capability to manage an entire job independently, from reading the job ticket through fabrication, welding, finishing, and installation.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality custom work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working on custom welding and fabrication projects for multiple industries.
• Experience in structural fabrication and sheet metal work.
• Ability to troubleshoot fitment issues and adjust fabrication methods as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach to custom work.
• Reliability and self-motivation to complete projects with minimal supervision.

Work Environment
You will work in a smaller shop environment where you handle projects from start to finish, providing a strong sense of ownership over your work. The setting is hands-on and production-focused, involving regular use of welding equipment, fabrication tools, grinders, and related shop machinery. The atmosphere encourages versatility, as you move between reading blueprints, fabricating, welding, grinding, and installing finished products. Standard shop attire suitable for welding and fabrication is expected, with appropriate personal protective equipment used throughout the workday.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $66560.00 - $70720.00/yr.
