Lead Carpenter

Hourly Rate : $25 to $35 (based on experience)

Job Overview :
Iron Ridge Contracting is looking for a skilled Carpenter to join our team. This position requires skilled craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a strong foundation in residential carpentry and remodeling. Our projects include custom decks and outdoor living spaces, kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and custom interior and exterior trim work. Deck-building experience is a plus. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, custom residential projects.

Key Responsibilities :

• Build and install custom decks, including framing, decking, stairs, and railing systems
• Perform residential remodeling and carpentry work for kitchens, bathrooms, and finished basements
• Perform custom trim and finish carpentry, including baseboard, casing, crown molding, wainscoting, built-ins, and other detailed finish work
• Assist with kitchen and bathroom renovations, including cabinetry installation, trim, framing, and finish work
• Perform framing, layout, and structural carpentry as required
• Work with a variety of materials, including wood, composite decking, plywood, cabinetry, trim, and alternative framing products
• Read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and project specifications
• Measure, cut, fit, and install materials accurately and efficiently
• Operate power tools and machinery safely and efficiently
• Install trim, fascia, stairs, doors, cabinetry, and other finishing details with precision
• Ensure all work meets structural integrity, building-code, and aesthetic standards
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized worksite while adhering to company and OSHA safety regulations
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve on-site to keep projects running smoothly
• Communicate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and team members
• Collaborate with project managers and team members to complete projects on schedule and to company quality standards

Requirements :

• Minimum of 5 years of carpentry experience
• Residential remodeling experience preferred
• Deck-building experience is a plus
• Experience with kitchen, bathroom, and/or basement remodeling is preferred
• Strong knowledge of framing, finish carpentry, trim work, and alternative framing techniques
• Experience with custom trim installation and detailed finish work
• Proficiency with power tools, saws, drills, and other carpentry equipment
• Ability to accurately measure, cut, and install materials
• Ability to read and execute blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience with composite decking brands (preferred but not required)
• Cabinetry and countertop installation experience is a plus
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Successful completion of a background check and professional references required

Physical Demands :

• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs)
• Comfortable standing, kneeling, bending, climbing, and squatting for extended periods
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, elevated surfaces, and construction sites as needed
• Adherence to strict safety protocols, including wearing protective gear

Schedule :

• Monday – Friday 7:30 AM to 4 PM (8-hour shifts)
• Occasional weekends as needed
