Position Overview

The primary objective of this role is to execute the essential functions of a nurse by assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care within the Emergency Room.

Essential Job Functions

• Plan, prioritize, and deliver proficient nursing care that is age-specific and developmentally appropriate, utilizing advanced clinical knowledge and skills to ensure patient and family comfort and safety.
• Accurately and consistently document medical records in a clear and concise manner.
• Monitor and record signs, symptoms, and behaviors, including the physiological status of patients.
• Propose revisions to interventions and desired outcomes as necessary.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of all information and records at all times.
• Follow physician orders in the provision of nursing care.
• Collect laboratory samples and conduct lab tests in accordance with established policies and regulations.
• Adhere to infection control protocols, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques during patient care.
• Carry out admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
• Engage in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care provided.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for various diagnostic or treatment procedures; perform or assist with procedures in accordance with legal and hospital policies, as well as nursing standards defined by the state Board of Nursing.

Other Job Functions

• Conduct all assigned Quality Assessment activities and document findings.
• Participate in staff meetings or other required company-sponsored meetings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of full-time RN experience in an ER or comparable setting is required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association are required; ENPC certification from ENA may substitute for PALS; TNCC is preferred.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is necessary.
• Pennsylvania Candidates: Must have completed Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance) and Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) within the last 5 years, or obtain them prior to the start date.
