Welcome to Trucco! Trucco recently joined Gruppo Orsero, a leader for Mediterranean Europe in the distribution of high-quality fresh fruit and vegetables, generating revenues of €1.7 billion. Our world is vibrant, challenging, and full of international connections.

For our Bronx, New York headquarters, we are looking for an HR Lead who can join our team and build Trucco's HR foundations from the ground up across both our Bronx office and our New Jersey warehouse, reporting directly to Trucco's CEO. Based on performance, this role offers a genuine path to grow into a Director of Human Resources position, building and leading your own team as Trucco's HR function expands.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for open roles: job postings, applicant screening, interviews, and offer coordination;
• Own onboarding and offboarding for both the Bronx office and the New Jersey warehouse;
• Maintain employee records, HR systems, and day-to-day HR reporting;
• Serve as the first point of contact for employees on HR questions, policies, and benefits;
• Support payroll, timecard, PTO, and leave administration, coordinating with external providers as needed;
• Begin shaping early-stage HR policies, employee relations practices, and performance review processes;
• Act as a direct HR partner to Nick and the Trucco leadership team as the function takes shape;
• Build a bridge between Trucco's HR practices and Gruppo Orsero's people and culture initiatives across Europe.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• A few years of experience in an HR generalist, coordinator, or similar role, ideally in a small or growing company;
• Working familiarity with U.S. HR practices, including recruitment, onboarding, and basic payroll/benefits concepts;
• Genuine ambition and potential to grow into a people leadership role over time;
• Highly organized and comfortable managing several priorities at once across two work sites;
• Strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment in handling sensitive employee matters;
• Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in a growing, still-developing organization;
• Experience with New York and/or New Jersey employment practices is a plus, though not required.
