Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located. 3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm. Experience with intellectual property litigation and disputes. Preferred qualifications Experience with Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings. Experience with the online industry and Google products and technologies. Knowledge of IP law issues in a technology context. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with leadership and management of cases. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $218,000–$315,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of intellectual property litigation and disputes, including defining and executing strategy, reviewing all briefing and filings, preparing for depositions and working with witnesses, determining dispute resolution approaches. Draft pleadings and discovery requests, take and defend depositions, and develop the infrastructure required to prevent disputes from arising. Work closely with various Legal, Product and Business team members to provide counseling on intellectual property disputes. Partner with outside counsel to take an active role in intellectual property litigation and disputes. Collaborate with other external in-house counsel and legal organizations on intellectual property dispute and policy matters.
