Maintenance Technician (1st Shift)


Location: New Berlin, WI
Schedule: First Shift, Monday-Friday
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary


We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team in New Berlin, WI. This role is responsible for maintaining production equipment, facility systems, and building infrastructure to support safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities and experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical upkeep of the facility and manufacturing equipment.
• Respond to and resolve safety-related maintenance concerns.
• Participate in the Hazard Communication Program and hazardous materials disposal activities.
• Serve as a member of the facility Safety Committee.
• Be available on an on-call basis to respond to building emergencies.
• Research, source, and order replacement parts and maintenance supplies.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
• Diagnose equipment issues and perform machine repairs to minimize downtime.
• Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance programs for production machinery.
• Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Complete maintenance records, work orders, and repair documentation accurately.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3-5 years of maintenance experience with an emphasis on industrial electrical troubleshooting and repair.
• Mechanical and electrical experience in an assembly and manufacturing environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical controls, PLCs, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and machinery.
