As a Biomedical Equipment Restoration Specialist, you’ll return complex medical systems to peak condition through meticulous teardown, diagnosis, repair, and reassembly. You’ll partner with a skilled team while also taking ownership of individual jobs to meet customer orders and rigorous quality expectations. Hands-on work with hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and electro‑mechanical and hydraulic systems is central to this role.

Day in the life (Indianapolis, IN — onsite, 5 days/week)

1. Receive and document incoming equipment; plan work using prints, schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
2. Disassemble units to inspect major components and sub‑assemblies; build working knowledge of each function.
3. Diagnose faults and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on STERIS and competitive equipment.
4. Replace or repair defective parts; rewire and reassemble as needed.
5. Adjust, calibrate, and certify equipment for use with standard and specialized test gear.
6. Evaluate each unit’s safety, efficiency, and overall effectiveness before final sign‑off.
7. Refinish metal and plastic parts; wipe down, mask, and prep for paint or polish to meet finish standards.

How you’ll contribute

• Execute electrical and hydraulic repairs both independently and within collaborative teams.
• Use torque wrenches and diagnostic equipment accurately; know what each tool is for and when to use it.
• Hit published productivity targets on moderately complex assemblies by following work instructions and standard work.
• Meet departmental quality metrics and uphold overall customer satisfaction commitments.
• Maintain a safe workspace, use required PPE, and hold yourself and teammates accountable to safety audits and policies.
• Apply 5S and a LEAN mindset to reduce waste and improve flow.
• Back up adjacent production roles, including material handling and shipping/receiving, when needed.

Location & schedule

This role requires onsite work 5 days a week at our Indianapolis, IN location. Overtime, weekends, and flexible shifts may be required based on demand.

What you bring

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of related experience in areas such as mechanical, electrical, electro‑mechanical, hydraulics, plumbing, HVAC, and/or automotive diagnosis or repair. An associate degree, relevant certifications, competitive equipment training, or related military experience may count toward the technical experience requirement.
• Customer‑focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication; able to document each repair clearly. Solid organizational, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proven ability to take direction, listen, learn, and contribute within a team.
• Willingness to support overtime and weekend work as needed.
