Austin ENT Clinic is offering a 4th year Au.D. externship position for 2027-2028. The clinic operates across multiple locations in the Austin area, and the extern’s work schedule may be divided among these sites. This 12‑month, full‑time, paid externship will provide hands‑on experience in audiological and vestibular diagnostics, hearing aids, osseointegrated devices, and cochlear implants for both adult and pediatric patients. Responsibilities Diagnostic audiological evaluations, as ordered by the physician/PA, including: Tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, reflex decay Otoacoustic emissions Auditory Brainstem Response testing Vestibular testing Hearing aid services: evaluation, consultation, selection, counseling, dispensing, programming, troubleshooting, in‑house repairs, and real‑ear measurements Earmold impressions for hearing aids and swim molds; functional gain assessment Assistive‑device counseling, selection, and dispensing Baha/Osia/cochlear‑implant evaluation, counseling, programming, and troubleshooting Appropriate documentation in the electronic medical records of patient contact and appointments Provide requested documentation to state agencies, schools, and other professionals Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree, eligibility for a 4th year Au.D. externship, professional liability insurance, and a Texas Audiology Intern’s license.
