CSU Stabilization Specialist

Department: Crisis Stabilization Unit. Union: 12‑hour shift – Variable (United States of America). Hours per pay period: 48. Pay range: $31.48–$47.28. Job Responsibilities Facilitate daily operations of the unit, providing structure, safety, and emotional support to clients in acute psychiatric crisis. Maintain the unit’s basic services, including meals, laundry, and housekeeping, under direct supervision of an RN. Ensure all repairs meet safety and health standards and assist clients with daily living activities, coping strategies, personal hygiene, and laundry. Provide personal supervision and monitoring to safeguard the health and safety of clients. Monitor, reinforce, and assist clients to follow their crisis treatment plan, documenting progress as directed. Deliver direct patient care to adult patients in a Crisis Stabilization Unit, maintaining appropriate verbal, personal‑space, and relational boundaries. Conduct educational group support, recreational activities, and contribute to a therapeutic milieu. Participate in gathering information, monitoring patient progress, implementing and documenting individualized patient plans of care, offering case management, and assisting in discharge planning and follow‑up phone calls. Collaborate with Navigators to provide a warm hand‑off for high‑risk patients. Act as a member of the clinical interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care. Support and provide resources to all internal and external customers, demonstrating commitment to quality. Safeguard the welfare of employees, patients, and visitors. Communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written, to perform essential functions. Utilize standard office equipment and computer software, including MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Internet/email. Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, laws, and standards. Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred Education: Master’s Degree in a related field. Spanish bilingualism required; English proficiency required. 1‑2 years of related experience required; 2‑3 years preferred. Certification: Crisis Prevention (CPI) within 30 days of hire. Certification: American Heart Association‑recognized BLS – Healthcare Provider. No required or preferred licenses.
