Van Driver - Part-Time

The Lutheran Home is seeking a Part-Time Van Driver with strong driving skills, a clean driving record, and a valid Class E driver's license to support the daily transportation needs of our healthcare community. Experience with shuttle or passenger transport is preferred, and wheelchair transport is especially valued. In this important service role, you will transport residents, families, and staff while helping maintain the smooth daily rhythm of our community. This is a part-time daytime position with a typical schedule working three days per week from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM . Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Safely transport residents to and from designated locations in a timely manner.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle as needed.
• Engage in courteous and respectful conversation with residents and their families.
• Keep track of fuel usage.
• Conduct daily safety inspection of vehicle, including checking the interior, exterior, brakes, headlamps, and taillights; report any mechanical malfunctions or other issues as required.
• Participate in the routine cleaning and servicing of the vehicle, including fueling; check oil and fluid levels; clean the windshield and headlamps; and maintain the vehicle in clean and safe operating condition.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid Class E Driver License
• Strong driving skills with a clean driving record
• CPR certification required, or ability to obtain certification within 60 days of employment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and safely position residents
• Ability to perform frequent physical movements, including reaching, bending, and stooping
