Job Responsibilities

• Assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity/compliance checks, provide proper patient instructions, collect insurance information, receive and process physician orders, and utilize an overlay tool while delivering excellent customer service as measured by Press Ganey.
• Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter‑office calls as applicable.
• Adhere to policies and provide excellent customer service with the appropriate level of compassion.
• Hold accountability for point‑of‑service goals as assigned.
• Utilize quality auditing and reporting systems to ensure accounts are corrected. Conduct audits and ensure all forms are completed accurately and timely to meet audit standards, providing statistical data to leadership.
• Pre‑register patient accounts prior to visits, including inbound/outbound calling to obtain demographic and insurance information and collect point‑of‑service collections, past‑due balances, and payment plan options.
• Explain general consent for treatment forms to the patient/guarantor/legal guardian, obtain necessary signatures, and distribute patient education documents such as Important Messages from Medicare, Tricare, Observation Forms, MOON forms, Consent forms, and all future service forms.
• Review eligibility responses in the insurance verification system, select the applicable insurance plan code, enter benefit data to support point‑of‑service collections and billing processes, assisting with a clean claim rate.
• Screen medical necessity using the Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software, inform Medicare patients of possible non‑payment of tests, and distribute ABN and other designated forms as appropriate.

Requirements

• Ability to walk from room to room and push a 10‑pound mobile computer station throughout the entire shift.

Experience

• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Inquisitive and open to innovation, including AI, to explore better processes and improve patient and client experiences.

Minimum Education

• High School Diploma/GED Required.

Certifications

• CRCR required within 9 months of hire (Company‑Paid).
