Quality Assurance Team LeadWe are looking for a Quality Assurance Team Lead to be responsible for assisting the Quality Assurance Manager with the day-to-day tasks of the quality program in the plant. The primary responsibility is to assure final products meet the company's quality standards and adhere to customer specifications.Compensation Range: $25-$28/hour DOEEssential Duties and Tasks:Team Leadership & Development:Lead, coach, and support Quality Assurance Technicians during daily operations.Build analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills within the QA team.Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, teamwork, and professional communication.Provide guidance and training to ensure consistent application of quality standards and procedures.Act as the operational bridge between QA Technicians and management.SQF, GMP & Quality Compliance:Oversee operational SQF compliance, including audits, process adherence, documentation, and food safety programs.Monitor GMP compliance, traceability requirements, operator-collected retains, and quality system effectiveness.Conduct routine quality inspections and support internal and external audits.Identify quality gaps, compliance concerns, and emerging risks before they escalate.Serve as the SQF-certified backup for the Quality Manager when needed.Complaint Management & Investigations:Accurately enter quality complaints and customer concerns into the quality management system.Gather all necessary documentation, samples, and information required for investigations.Lead operational aspects of investigations, including fact collection and coordination with production and department managers.Ensure investigations are completed thoroughly, accurately, and on time.Prepare investigation summaries and supporting documentation for Quality Manager review.Escalate high-risk, recurring, or complex issues as appropriate.Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA):Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.Track CAPAs from initiation through completion and verify effectiveness.Support root cause analysis efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.Monitor recurring trends and escalate concerns to the Quality Manager.Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement:Collect, analyze, and report quality data and performance metrics.Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.Recommend process improvements that enhance product quality, food safety, and operational efficiency.Provide the Quality Manager with timely and accurate information to support decision-making.Skills and Abilities:Experience working in a manufacturing, food production, or packaging environment.Experience participating in audits, investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA activities.Experience with SQF, GMPs, or BRC standards. Familiarity with customer complaint management and regulatory compliance programs.Strong computer skills, including data entry, reporting, and Microsoft Office applications.Proven problem-solving and investigative skills (root cause analysis, trend analysis).Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Leadership or supervisory experience — ability to coach and develop a team.Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.Benefits: We offer a comprehensive and flexible benefits package designed to support your well-being and help you thrive—at work and at home.
