Job Description

The Ultrasound Technologist will perform complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the general direction of a physician and department supervisor. This role includes specialization in areas such as Vascular or OB, with a focus on delivering excellent patient care and adhering to established protocols in accordance with relevant standards and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures for various organ systems as per established protocols.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, including federal, state, and Joint Commission regulations.
• Maintain proficiency in specialized ultrasonic imaging units and stay current with technological advances.
• Review images for quality, completeness, and adherence to protocols, providing technical decisions to ensure optimal imaging results.
• Participate in accreditation processes, maintaining compliance with governing bodies.
• Provide training to new staff members and sonography students, supporting educational initiatives.
• Support departmental needs by performing duties as assigned, including equipment maintenance and emergency preparedness checks.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum two years of clinical experience in ultrasound imaging required.
• Experience in OBGYN and vascular ultrasound preferred.
• Active ARMDS and RDMS certifications required.
• CPR certification required upon hire; AHA BLS within 60 days of hire.
