The Pediatric Dental Assistant is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for our patients and parents that focuses on education, relationship building, and upholding our concierge approach to high end Pediatric Dentistry. We aim to become a "dental home" to those in our community where they feel safe, valued, and heard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creating a friendly atmosphere for dental procedures, helping them feel comfortable and at ease.
• Educate children and parents about proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary habits.
• Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and procedures by providing the necessary instruments and materials, ensuring compliance with infection control for a safe and sterile environment.
• Coronal Polish and take digital dental x-rays, ensuring proper positioning and image quality.
• Collaborate with the dental team to develop effective treatment plans for patients.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred.
• DANB x-ray certification.
• Coronal Polish certification (or in process of completing)
• Experience working in a pediatric dental setting is a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication skills, especially when interacting with children and parents.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in helping young patients have positive dental experiences.
• Familiarity with dental software for charting and record-keeping.
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
