Specialist, Electronic Health Records - Adult Day Services

Responsibilities Support the Director of Adult Day Services and Vice President of Adult Day Services in managing the ADS Electronic Health Records system Support implementation and maintenance of comprehensive EHR management software across Adult Day Services Serve as the EHR subject matter expert, super user, and administrator Review and evaluate methods and procedures to resolve problems and improve data collection, completeness, quality, and accuracy Drive system efficiency, continuous quality assurance, standardization, and gap reduction Assess staff training needs and provide feedback to staff and the Director of Adult Day Services Conduct staff training and retraining based on quality assurance findings, process changes, EHR changes, and system utilization needs Produce training materials Produce regular and ad hoc reports and data abstractions Coordinate with the EHR vendor on upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, enhancements, and system improvement activities Attend EHR-related meetings and participate in leadership evaluations and initiatives Participate in developing a long-range information governance strategy Perform other duties as assigned Travel locally up to 60% of the time Requirements Associate’s Degree in Health Services preferred Minimum 4 years of experience with progressive responsibility in Human Services, Adult Day Services, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services (IDD), or any regional center funded service Experience with electronic health record management and training of users Preferably at least one year in a lead or supervisory capacity Experience using Therap required Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office and Teams Experience with reporting and data analytics preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Windows-based applications, databases, internet usage, and Electronic Health Records software Knowledge of manual and computerized Human Service systems Knowledge of electronic health record processes, including record storage and retrieval, record retention, workflow, authentication, and documentation standardization Ability to establish and maintain data collection, record keeping, tracking, filing, and reporting systems Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding EHR client information Knowledge of disability services and person-centered practices Ability to assess staff training needs and develop training programs Ability to prioritize and organize workload, work independently and as a team member, and manage changing priorities, heavy workloads, and tight deadlines Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality Excellent organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, oral, and written communication skills Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and TB test Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation Ability to travel locally and work various hours and locations based on business needs California driver’s license, compliant driving record, auto insurance, and vehicle registration required Ability to pass all drug testing required by ESSC Spanish speaking a plus Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in Electronic Health Records management, including training and support for staff, while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
